VOICES Boston was founded as PALS Children’s Chorus in 1990 by Jody Hill Simpson and is now led by Artistic Director Dan Ryan. VOICES Boston is a leading children’s choir organization that exists to enrich the lives of young people in the Boston area. We provide a nurturing environment for artistic growth that fosters confidence, discipline, leadership skills, and an abiding love of music. We aim to positively impact the lives of children by providing high-quality music education and inclusive opportunities for collaborative music-making, regardless of musical background or financial means. Simultaneously, we enable young people to develop extraordinary skills in teamwork and collaboration, skills that have a lasting impact on all aspects of students’ lives.
With a focus on singing and performance through ensemble learning, movement, and theater, VOICES Boston provides a joyful, inclusive, and high-quality musical experience to children grades K-8 in the Greater Boston area. VOICES Boston choristers perform a wide range of repertoire, including classical, musical theater, world music, gospel, and contemporary music, and present a musical/operetta annually. VOICES Boston understands the power of collaboration and has collaborated with many internationally known ensembles throughout its history; recent collaborations have included the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, and White Snake Projects.
VOICES Boston is committed to making outstanding arts education and performance opportunities accessible to all students, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances, and without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, ethnicity, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.
