VOICES Boston is proud to collaborate with Boston Lyric Opera to provide outstanding arts education to our singers. Through a variety of events, such as audition workshops for middle and high school students, and our annual summer youth opera camp, participants gain exposure and experience with industry standard performance practice.
Opera Camp
By participating in our annual summer youth opera camp, singers create their own opera and perform their own original songs. Singers learn to design and create costume, sets, and lighting under the instruction of Boston Lyric Opera technicians, and enjoy theater games, singing, and acting lessons!
Vocal Auditioning Basics
Open to juniors and seniors in high school, our Vocal Auditioning Basics course prepares singers to be successful and confident in college auditions and summer program auditions!
Participants have gone on to study at prestigious institutions such as Eastman School of Music, Northwestern, Interlochen, and more!
Musical Theatre Audition Workshop
Offered in partnership with Boston Lyric Opera, this audition workshop is designed for middle school singers to build technique, theatrical movement, and character—equipping young performers with the confidence and tools to succeed in musical theatre and choral auditions.
