VOICES Boston is proud to collaborate with Boston Lyric Opera to provide outstanding arts education to our singers. Through a variety of events, such as audition workshops for middle and high school students, and our annual summer youth opera camp, participants gain exposure and experience with industry standard performance practice.
Opera Camp
By participating in our annual summer youth opera camp, singers create their own opera and perform their own original songs. Singers learn to design and create costume, sets, and lighting under the instruction of Boston Lyric Opera technicians, and enjoy theater games, singing, and acting lessons!
Vocal Auditioning Basics: A College Prep Course for High School Singers
Open to juniors and seniors in high school, our Vocal Auditioning Basics course prepares singers to be successful and confident in college auditions and summer program auditions!
Now in its 5th successful year, participants have gone on to prestiges music institutions such as Eastman School of Music, Northwestern, Interlochen, and more!

Middle School Musical Theatre Audition Workshop
In our audition workshops, singers work with acclaimed Boston Lyric Opera faculty in master classes designed to teach audition techniques and strategies, while developing theatrical movement technique, physicality and characterization. The skills learned in these workshops help prepare singers to do their best in musical theatre and choral auditions.
