Voices Boston

Curriculum & Training

At VOICES Boston, we offer a high-quality musical training experience that goes far beyond a traditional children’s choir. Our singers learn in a joyful, supportive environment led by highly qualified, conservatory-trained conductors who nurture both individual growth and ensemble collaboration.

What Our Singers Learn

  • Healthy, relaxed vocal habits
  • Alignment, breath support, and resonance awareness
  • Confidence as both ensemble members and “soloists within the ensemble”
  • A wide range of expressive vocal colors and the technique behind them

How We Teach

  • Ensemble work that builds teamwork, musical sensitivity, and a strong sense of community
  • Individualized guidance to help each child develop their unique voice
  • Developmentally appropriate techniques starting from the earliest levels

Music Literacy & Sight-Singing

We believe deeply in the value of music literacy. Our singers learn to:

  • Read and interpret music
  • Develop strong sight-singing skills
  • Build a foundation that broadens their repertoire and deepens their musical understanding

Integrated Artistry

At VOICES Boston, we embrace the fusion of singing with acting and dance — a multidisciplinary approach we call Integrated Artistry. This method brings musical concepts to life through the whole body, helping students develop comfort, confidence, and expressive depth on stage.

  • Repertoire spanning multiple languages, styles, and traditions
  • A curriculum that encourages curiosity and global awareness
  • Guest artists from opera, Broadway, world music, choral traditions, and popular music, offering inspiring professional perspectives
  • Dramatic exercises and play-based activities that build expressive vocal, physical, and facial communication, and explore stage presence.
  • Dance training to strengthen ensemble sensitivity and shared body awareness and coordination
